Review cards in both directions

For current deck types, open the deck's "Settings" > "Card Orientation" and choose:

• "Normal": show the configured front first.
• "Reversed": show the configured back first.
• "Mixed": choose normal or reversed orientation at random for each reviewed card.

Mixed does not guarantee that every card appears once in each direction in a session.

Progress is shared between orientations

Changing orientation changes presentation, not the identity of the card. Both directions use the same review history and scheduling.

If you want independent progress for each direction, create two separate cards with the prompt and answer swapped.

Older decks

Legacy decks use a layout selector instead of Card Orientation. Choose an available reverse layout, or edit a layout if you own the deck. The exact result depends on what each side of that layout contains.
